Centrex

The Centrex office is responsible for the university switchboard, the online ASU Departmental Directory, and resolving telephone troubles.

Enterprise Applications

Enterprise Applications provide faculty, staff and students with applications that assist them in their day to day activities on campus. The primary goal of the Enterprise Applications Group is to provide the support required to operate the Ellucian Banner Application System for Appalachian State University. EA offers broad assistance for application operations and are responsible for determining standards and best practices, as well as application security. Responsibilities include Advancement, Financial Reporting, Human Resources and Payroll, Financial Aid and Student Business Applications.

IT Support Services

Our Technology Support staff is available to assist with the technology needs of faculty, staff, and students at Appalachian. Requests submitted online are routed to the appropriate IT staff who will provide support.

Information Security

The Office of Information Security (ITS-OIS) is the University's information security unit. ITS-OIS works to advance the management of risks related to University information resources and fosters resilient and safe computing environments for the University community.

Infrastructure and Systems

Infrastructure and Systems includes Shared Resources, Environmental and Operational Management, Server Virtualization Management, Virtual Desktop Infrastucture, Storage and Backup Management, Disaster Recovery Planning, Enterprise Systems and Application Integration, Windows and Desktop Service, File and Print Services, Network Infrastructure and Control System, and ASU's wireless networking canopy.

Project Management, Governance, and Outreach (PMGO)

Project Management, Governance and Outreach PMGO), works to improve delivery of IT servies through Project Management, IT governance, and outreach.  PMGO is responsible for fostering engagement and communication between ITS, Distributed IT and the Appalachian community.  This group also delivers informative reports and statistics to share the work of ITS and Distributed IT and assist in decision making.  PMGO maintains our standard project framework, project repository, and a gateway for requesting IT projects, while also supporting IT Governancy review and prioritization of projects.
