The Staff Shout Out program at Appalachian State University announces Clint Nelson, Technology Support Specialist in Appalachian’s Information Technology Services, as the winner of its November drawing.
Nelson, who serves as Lead Technology Support Specialist for the university’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), is one of 936 Appalachian staff members who have been recognized for their Shout Out-worthy service to the university since January.
In her November Staff Shout Out to Nelson, Ellen Gwin Burnette, CAS director of marketing, communication and engagement, described Nelson as “the resident expert and most helpful man of tech.”
“He is always on the move, helping across the span of buildings that the College of Arts and Sciences inhabits,” she added. “I think folks in IT and support are those behind the scenes who probably receive the least recognition, but they are some of the most important members of our team. He is an integral part of the college, keeping us all functioning, updated and at work.”
“It’s an honor to be recognized and to know my work is appreciated,” Nelson said. “Customer service is very important to me, and I strive to assist users in a quick, efficient and thorough manner.”
