Webb named Chief Information Security Officer

The Office of the CIO is pleased to announce that James Webb has accepted our offer to be the Chief Information Security Officer at Appalachian. James will be responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the university. As CISO, James will lead the development and implementation of a security program that leverages collaborations and campus-wide resources, facilitates information security governance, advises senior leadership on security direction and resource investments, and designs appropriate policies to manage information security risk.

James comes from North Georgia College and State University and has 15 years of experience with IT in Higher Education. He brings both technical and leadership experience building security programs and will be a great addition to our team. James will begin working at Appalachian on October 21st.
