The Academic Technologies Department is excited to welcome Michael Vaughn as the latest addition to our dynamic team. Vaughn brings a wealth of experience in Moodle LMS administration and a strong commitment to faculty collaboration. He’s poised to significantly contribute to our ongoing projects in instructional technology and the LMS.
In his new role, Vaughn will collaborate with the team to manage and support the LMS, facilitating the integration of essential tools such as Zoom, Turnitin, VoiceThread, and Kaltura. He’ll also explore pilot programs for new technologies to help maintain ASU’s leading edge in educational innovation.
The focus of Vaughn’s work will include consulting with faculty on the effective use of technology in course design and delivery, addressing teaching challenges, and providing technical support. His expertise in optimizing Moodle for teaching and learning will serve as a vital resource for faculty, helping to enhance the overall educational experience at ASU.
Building strong relationships with faculty and staff is a cornerstone of Vaughn’s approach. He brings a passion for creating accessible and inclusive course materials and activities, which is reflected in his personal practice developing instructional materials, webinars, workshops, and training courses.
As a key member of the Academic Technologies team, Vaughn will lead workshops and webinars designed to build stronger connections with faculty, and equip them with essential skills for effectively using the LMS. These initiatives underscore Vaughn’s commitment to not only enhancing the use of instructional technologies at ASU, but also nurturing a community of educators who feel confident in their ability to create dynamic and inclusive learning environments.
