The Academic Technologies Department has a new team member who will support accessibility initiatives with instructional technologies. Madeline Christopher has joined the team this month as an Accessibility Technology Specialist.
In this role, Christopher will provide faculty support and assistance with the accessibility of their AsULearn course sites and course content. Additionally, she will assist Academic Technologies with professional development and workshops focused on accessibility and instructional technologies.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Academic Technology team here at ASU as a new Accessibility Technology Specialist,” said Christopher. “I am excited to collaborate with my colleagues to help contribute to an inclusive environment on campus and a proactive approach to accessibility.”
Prior to this role, Christopher served as the Assistive Technology Specialist in the Office of Accessibility at High Point University where she worked regularly with faculty, staff, and students to ensure equitable access to courses for those with disabilities. “I am grateful to work in the field of assistive technology where I have the opportunity to help empower individuals with diverse abilities to lead more independent lives," she noted.
Prior to working in assistive technology, Christopher earned a Masters in Library and Information Studies at UNC Greensboro and holds two B.A.s in Sociology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from UNC Asheville. We welcome Madeline to the team and look forward to working with her.
