Microsoft Copilot is an AI-powered conversational interface developed by Microsoft that is available to all faculty, staff and students.
In order to keep App State data secure and reduce university risk, log in to Copilot with your App State username and password to enable the following protections:
your prompts and responses are not saved or used to train the underlying large language models, and
chat data sent to and from Copilot is encrypted.
Despite the name, this service is not the same as Microsoft 365 Copilot and does not use or access Excel, Docs, etc.
Microsoft Copilot is connected to Microsoft’s search engine and responds to prompts with detailed information and footnotes that link back to original sources on the internet.
