LTI External Tools
LTI External Tools are how many services (VoiceThread, Respondus, Kaltura and Zoom) and content providers (VitalSource eText and courseware) connect to your course in a Learning Management System (LMS).
Over the summer, the Academic and Emerging Technologies (AET) team worked to bring these tools into Canvas so instructors have similar options to what they had in AsULearn. This required close coordination with the Campus Store, vendors and their tech teams to configure each tool per the provider's specifications.
Getting Support for LTIs
The AET team installs and configures LTI external tools in Canvas, but that's the extent of access. AET does not have administrative access to these outside systems and therefore is unable to troubleshoot the platforms.
If you or your students run into trouble with an LTI external tool, you may need to contact the individual tool's support team directly.

Requesting New LMS Integrations
New LTI external tool integrations may involve sensitive data and raise security risks, so all requests must go through theIT Acquisition submission and review process. Submit requests several months before you plan to use a tool, since review times can vary.
