Zoom AI Companion is a generative AI digital assistant that delivers real-time capabilities to improve productivity. Two new AI Companion features are available for all App State faculty, staff and students:
Meeting Summary
Generate a summary and next steps of what was discussed in your meetings and share via email or other team communication spaces even without recording the meeting.
In Meeting Questions
Ask questions you have about a meeting in real-time and quickly catch up or gain clarity on what you may have missed or forgotten without interrupting.
Settings and Use
It is critical to manage your settings appropriately. Here are a few key points to consider:
You can control which AI Companion capabilities you use in your meetings.
To enable or disable these features, go to your Zoom profile settings at appstate.zoom.us and find the AI Companion tab. By default, these features are off.
You can toggle capabilities on or off anytime, even during a meeting, and decide on a case-by-case basis.
When joining a meeting with active AI Companion features, you'll receive a notification about the capabilities that are in use.
Avoid using Zoom AI Companion in meetings involving confidential or sensitive data.
Always review AI-generated content (transcriptions, summaries, etc.) for accuracy and completeness before sharing.
Ensure compliance with App State policies on data privacy, academic integrity and responsible communication.
By following these guidelines, we can leverage the benefits of the Zoom AI Companion while maintaining a safe and responsible working and learning environment.
