Fax Server Migration

Project: Fax Server Migration

Objective

To move away from analog fax lines that are increasingly difficult to support by our service provider, AT&T, and provide campus with a more secure, modern way to handle faxes.

Project Overview

AT&T is gradually ending support on all analog lines. We want to ensure departments who need to fax will be able to do so before support ends. As a result, ITS must migrate all analog fax lines to a fax server.

Leveraging a fax server allows you to send and receive faxes directly from your computer for added security and more efficient and sustainable operations. ITS will work with your department to set up the best location for receiving faxes.

We began working with select areas of campus in Spring 2024 to develop a feasible plan and test a new solution. ITS is working with departments to determine which fax lines are still needed during this process.
